IOS Upgrade!!!!!!!!

Alright I cant belive I cant get this but I am trying to upgrade my IOS on my router 3900 series, 3945 chassi.

This routers IOS has not been updated since 2011, I get an error when I try to boot from the new IOS I am trying to put on it, the error is incorect platfor then it boots on the old IOS i am trying to update. the IOS it currently has is..........

C3900e-universalk9-mz.SPA.151-3.T1.bin.................. here is the IOS softwear and version that it currently has...... Cisco IOS software, C3900e software (C3900e-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version SOFTWARE 15.1 (3) T1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)

 

this is the IOS we are trying to put in the router is c3900-universalk9.SPA.155-3.m6.bin

 

now i thought it was the format of the usb drive it is formated to FAT32 the router reads what is on there but wont boot from it again it says error incorrect platfor. thank you for your time any help would be amazing

Thanks for the output.

The appliance is a 3945, however, the IOS found in the directory output shows the file meant for a 3945e.

Thank you for your help but im sorry for my stupidity can you please explain what the importance about the e is please???????

"e" is the later model. 3945 is the first "series" that came out and about 18 months later the 3925e/3945e came out with bigger "grunt". Because of this, there are two different IOS files, one for the plain one and the other for the "e".
