Dear All
Does anyone have any experience with qos and dmvpn?
I recently setup a dmvpn cloud for a POC on a satellite based network. It's remarkably simple to build, like it a lot.
There is a but. The next step is deploy a qos policy as the network will be carrying data and voice and video.
I read about the per-tunnel qos policy using ip nhrp group but this seems to have been introduced in IOS 15.0 and above.
I'm running 2821 for the spokes and a 7206 VXR NPE-G2 (with 64Mb flash card, ouch), all running IOS 12.4(9).
The command does not seem to exist.
I checked the Cisco feature navigator and appears that this is the case, although it features in the dmvpn design guide for IOS 12.4, quite confusing
My plan was to use a policy-map on the spoke on the physical interface (to satellite modem), then on the hub the per-tunnel groups using nhrp.
I also have a requitrement to allow bursting. the satellite is essentially a cloud, then each has a cir plus it can use burst amount. That is to come next First I have to check if DMVPN is feasible.
Can anyone confirm this, or like to share their own experiences.
Thanks for reading!
Phil
P.S. I found this discussion, explains how to do it, just missing the IOS release:

The feature is also available in the later 12.4(T) IOS versions. Unsure exactly what release it was introduced, but I'm actively using it on 12.4(20)T. (At least I think that's the release. Definitively 12.4T something).
PS:
Hmm, not sure the reference link your OP has best explains it. On the hub side, you define QoS template groups. On the spoke side you tell the hub what QoS group to use to the traffic to that spoke.
I'm also doing QoS on the spokes, don't recall whether I do it on the physical interface or the tunnel interface.
Not sure it makes a difference, but my spokes are NOT configured to build tunnels between the spokes.

Hi
Well, certainly it's not in IOS 12.4(15). Unfortunately that's our latest standard in the 12.4 range. the next step is to 15.1(4)M5 so will push ahead with that.
There are some additional license requirements for the crypto bit for ISR g2s so that'll make life interesting/cisco share price go up.
Thanks for your inputs.
