ip accounting output-packets

Unfortunately we do not have a netflow server nor have the abilitiy to configure 1 anytime soon.  I setup ip accounting output-packets on one of my layer 3 interfaces on my switch but when I do a show ip accounting, I get no ouput.  Do I need aaa new-model configured on this?

hi,

ip accounting is usually done on a router and you don't need AAA (aaa new-model) to enable this feature.

could you do it on your gateway router instead and see if you get any output?
