I'm seeing packet loss on some UDP jitter monitors that I recently configured. The monitors are setup with a ToS of 184 and voice codec to simulate voice traffic conditions. I asked the ISP to check into the packet loss and they're dumbfounded that we're getting loss on some of the circuits. I feel like I need to go back to square one and make sure the issue isn't on my side.
When using UDP jitter monitors, does the Cisco SLA responder automatically set the ToS value on traffic it generates? If not, there's a slight chance that inconsistent marking of traffic is my problem. For reference, I have policy maps configured to mark traffic but they're only ingress into the WAN port. I assume I'd need to mark traffic on egress if the responder isn't tagging the traffic automatically.
Also, is it possible that the SLA responder is dropping traffic if getting overwhelmed? If so, are CPU and incoming interface the only resources I need to check?
