iperf bandwidth tests

Hello,

We have a new 100mb WAN installed from the UK to Germany and it seems very slow, so I'm after any advise.  I've used these iperf commands:

Client

iperf -c 172.30.0.100 -t 100 -i5 -P 10 -b 11m

Server

iperf -u -s -i5

Results from Uk to Germany PC

[ ID] Interval       Transfer     Bandwidth

[  4]  0.0- 5.0 sec  5.03 MBytes  8.44 Mbits/sec

[  9]  0.0- 5.0 sec  5.06 MBytes  8.49 Mbits/sec

[  6]  0.0- 5.0 sec  5.02 MBytes  8.42 Mbits/sec

[  7]  0.0- 5.0 sec  5.08 MBytes  8.52 Mbits/sec

[ 11]  0.0- 5.0 sec  5.08 MBytes  8.52 Mbits/sec

[  5]  0.0- 5.0 sec  5.02 MBytes  8.43 Mbits/sec

[  3]  0.0- 5.0 sec  5.04 MBytes  8.46 Mbits/sec

[  8]  0.0- 5.0 sec  5.04 MBytes  8.45 Mbits/sec

[ 12]  0.0- 5.0 sec  5.02 MBytes  8.42 Mbits/sec

[ 10]  0.0- 5.0 sec  5.11 MBytes  8.58 Mbits/sec

[SUM]  0.0- 5.0 sec  50.5 MBytes  84.7 Mbits/sec

It starts off ok then drops down:

When testing from the opposite direction so from Germany to the UK it is ok.  I test copying a 224mb file from the UK to Germany and it too 25 mins, but the other direction it was 4 mins.

I tried the same test to a different office on a 2mb SDSL line and the 224mb file took 17 mins to copy and the same test again took 60 secs to another office on a 20mb line.

Our WAN provider manages the Cisco routers but I have access to get any info.  I'm just trying to prove to them that something isn't right.  I think this coudl be the start of a long journey

Thanks

Might want to look at some TCP tuning.
