Diagram:Local office perspective point of view.

2500 CiscoRouter-->csu/dsu(v.35 serial connection)-->provider-->US Main Office(T1)

Objective:

1. Connect my local router to US using serial connection.

2. Configure the linecoding and framing.

Question:

1. what are the steps to do this?

2. how to remove the loopbacks on both sides?

3. How will the provider convert the serial connection to T1 to get to the US side?

please help on this.

Hi

IPLC is nothing but a simple point to point TDM circuit provided by SP to get the customer locations connected with each other.

AFAIK normally in the US end its T1 output delivered at the customer end.

If you have T1 card installed in your router you can directly terminate the same onto your router.

Also at the other end you have mentioned that you are going to make use of Cisco 2500 router which has already reached EOS/EOL status.

This may not even support some latest features which you may try to implement.

So better lookout for someother series router may be in 1800 serires (probably 1841 which can accommodate normal wic card for your v.35 connectivity).

ok. i understand.

anyways, do you know TDM with VoIP?

Hi

I feel you are talking about using this IPLC for voice purpose.

There are different ways in doing that do find few of them..

In general terms we do connect the the IPLC output (either T1 or E1)from TELCO onto the router and take an Ethernet output and connect it on the IP EPABX which is capable of handling ip phones.

Similar kinda setup is also required at the distant end to have this functional.

or else you can connect the epabx on the E&M card which is installed on the router.
