Hi everybody
Let say we have two sites, s1 and s2. We want to connect these two sides ipsec.
s1---internet----s2
The ip sec tunnel is configured between s1 and s2 via internet; Ip sec provides encryption and authentication.
Let say we want to replace ip sec by GRE tunnel. The question is will GRE tunnel provide similar features ( encryption, authentication) the way ipsec does?
Thanks and have a great weekend.

NO
GRE is only provide a tunneling method of unicast or multicast traffic in a gre tunnel without encryption
Gre can be used with IPSec to add encryption to it
Hope this help
