Hi all,
I have 8 frame-relay circuits 128/64 cir and some of them are using ISDN as a backup solution.
Sometimes all the frame-relay links get down and the backup doesn´t work because the serial interface keeps up and down all the time.
When it happens the service provider technical support usually asks me to press the RDL button in the modem and the frame-relay links works again.
They have already changed the modem.
May the problem be with the router hardware? If I issue a shutdown in the serial interface the backup works fine.
TIA

Just check the output of sh interface primary intf no cmd and send me the output so that I can trace out the problem.
In that o/p, check for the backup delay set.If it is set as too low(the first of the 2 values), then that can be a reason.
Also, check the backup load .This cmd says that if a primary intf reaches this much specified load, then switch on the secondary interface. On a whole, check for the following.
1.backup intf enabled.
2.physical backup link connection is tight and ok.
3.check for backup delay and load.
