Hi,

sorry for this simple question but I cannot find what is the MAX throughput licence you can buy for ISR4331.

I have found info that 4431 is maxed at 500Mbit/s and 4331 is maxed at 300Mbit/s, is this correct ?

show platform hardware throughput level
The current throughput level is 300000 kb/s

Hello,

the Boost(er) license is the highest you can get. This license effectively removes all limitations, and allows throughput at line rate, or, whatever the hardware/software limits of the router are. For the 4331 model, this means throughput greater than 2GB.

That's incorrect.  Georg's posting has the various license bandwidth throughput levels.

However, understand your traffic mix and configuration can very much impact actual maximum bandwidth throughput.

The ISR 4K series will generally always come close to achieving/delivering their base/default specification, regardless of traffic mix and configuration.

The will also usually also achieve/deliver their performance specification, except under very stressful conditions (using IPSec seems to stressful - at least on Miercom's benchmarks:  https://miercom.com/pdf/reports/20150817.pdf).

With a "boost" license, as noted by Georg, the hardware's bandwidth throughput is no longer artificially limited (basically like earlier series of ISRs).  Although there appears to be a huge jump in bandwidth throughput capacity, this is only for optimal traffic and optimal configuration.  Be very cautious in using those bandwidth throughput numbers.
