ISR 819 maximum recommended throughput?

Matthew Needs

Hi All,

We are looking at providing an ISR 819 for one of our customers using FTTC & 3G for failover .. However, I cant seem to find any recommended throughput guidence for the device? We could be looking at up to 80Mbps via the ethernet interface and I just dont know if the device will cope? If not, do you have any other ISR suggestions which could do the job..

Any input grately recieved..

Thanks

Matt

Unfortunately, only the later general models are on that document.  I also don't see the 819 on this reference:

This is probably because its such a special purpose router.  Even its datasheet doesn't note absolute performance.

See attachment for performance of current small router platforms for different usage.

Hi Joseph,

Thanks for the info but I don't see any referance to the 819? I see 86x, 88x etc.. Am I missing something?

Thanks a lot

Matt

Thanks again Joseph. It's nice to know im not being stupid, hopefully Cisco will provide some info soon.. We're going to carry out some internal tests.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Hi matthew,

You learned using tests recommended bandwidth ISR 819? My problem is very similar to yours. On cisco.com information could not find. If you have practical information help please?

An old thread but worth adding to:

The 819G routers user the Freescale QorIQ P1025 dual-core processor, which is an awesomely fast and makes the 819G an ISR G2 router.

The 819G can route at 100mbps no problems and at 10% CPU. I've terminated a 300Mbps GRE tunnel with an 819G and it handled it fine with CPU at 80% during load testing.

Marketing places this router at the bottom of the tree for their own reasons but it's reliable with excellent throughout and full IOS.
