IWAN PfR

Hello,

We are using IWAN in our organization and some sites do not have reliable Internet connectivity or the internet capacity is not enough. In our scenario, we can reach our DMVPN hubs via the Internet (ISP) or our internal SAT connection. For instance, our preferred path flow for http\https applications is over the Internet (ISP) tunnel and the backup is another tunnel over SAT. In some cases, when the Internet link is saturated, IWAN decides to use Tunnel over SAT for Inbound to our Site traffic and leaves the Outbound traffic on the tunnel via Internet, thus we have asymmetric traffic flows. Now, the issue is that our Application team says that asymmetric traffic flow or “link flaps” make our applications slow. The question is: are there any specific constraints, which should had been considered before the implementation of IWAN, simply saying, is there a probability that some applications (TCP) cannot be managed successfully by IWAN?

Thank you
