Lan clients request for www.mywebsite.com to a specific machine

Is it possible to redirect clients request for http://www.mcu.com to 192.168.100.6.

This is something a DNS server would do,

however I was wondering if our CISCO router 831 could do this. In which case I don't need a DNS server? I didn't mention that this would be for LAN clients. Internal users type www.mcu.com go to .6 machine.

Thanks

Hi,

For what you ask to be possible, the Cisco router has to act as a DNS server, and that is something that IOS does not support at the moment. So the answer to your question is, unfortunately, no.

Hope that helps - pls rate the post if it does.
