I have a cisco 2600 router for our internet connection. Can i limit the amount of bandwidth we allow out using the router? I am a novice to router configurations. Thanks.

What problem are you trying to fix? If you pay for a T-1, you certainly should use it all :-)

Can you provide more details on what you're trying to achieve? Did you mean that you want to limit a certain kind of traffic to the Internet?

We are looking at getting a T3 with a cisco router and I was asked if we could set a bandwidth limit on a cisco router. I was thinking of testing on our T1 line, which is the backup. We want to set a limit that would allow only half of the available bandwidth to be used for downloads.
