link-flap error detected on Gi1/0/6

Dear sir

 

Always the port  Gi1/0/6 is going down , after restarting the switch it is working for small period and become down  , it connected to PC ,

 

Please check the error  logs

which switch model is this on ? What is connected on that port ?

switch model 2960 , PC is connected to the port

Hello,

 

could be a physical problem with either the port, the cable, or the NIC of the PC. You could try another port or change the cable. The log usually tells you what the reason is for the port being put in err-disable state...

Do the following:
1. Command: test cable tdr interface Gi1/0/6;
2. Wait for approximately 5 to 7 seconds for the process to run;
3. Command: sh cable tdr interface Gi1/0/6; and
4. Post the complete output to #3.
