Hello,
does Cisco support "Link loss forwarding" on one of its platforms?
Is there maybe any other similar feauture ( i.e. like BFD over ethernet) which could do the same thing?
foe example:
LAN1---cisco1-----layer2_NETWORK---cisco2--- LAN2
some feature which could detect failure somewhere in a layer2 network between cisco1 and cisco2 and
then bring down ports toward LAN1 and LAN2.
Thanks in advance,
A.

Hello Antonio,
you should look for CFM Connectivity Fault Management according to metro ethernet forum standards. 802.1ah Ethernet OAM and CFM
It comes in two flavors link level fault management or logical level fault management ( roughly single Vlan level EVC in MEF terms).
see
CFM over EVC on ES linecards
Hope to help
