Hi all. We have an ASR 9000 that has just been connected with fiber to a Comcast router to give us more bandwidth. When they test their end, they are showing a line protocol of up, up and they are able to ping our side of the router. We are showing down, down on our end and cannot ping their side. What are some reasons that this could happen? It has left me baffled. Thanks.

Please check again the physical connectivity or make no shut on your interface.
If line is down and protocol is down means there is a connectivity problem.

Hi,
having one side down and the other up is possible if you have a switch in between but I wonder how they can ping your interface which is down/down because in this case it can't reply.

Yeah that's what didn't make sense because they were directly connected with fiber. We tried to shut down the ports and then no shut them earlier this week and that didn't work. We were able make it out to the site where our ASR is with extra jumpers and sfp's in hand. We are using two connections. One came up from a simple move to another point (same configurations on both ports). We moved the other one and it did not come up. We replaced the sfp with the exact same model (Cisco SX) and it came up. For some reason the ASR was having trouble getting everything together. Thank you guys for the replies.
