It looks like SUP1A is very close to EOL and from what I gather, so is HYBRID CATOS. So, there are plans to go to SUPII and CAT Native IOS. We have setup some local spans on our 6500s for 3 different sources in HYBRID mode. We are going to go back to CAT NATIVE IOS and SUPII. However, I found that we can only setup 2 local span or RSPAN with native ios.
It is documented in the following URL:
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/cat6000/122sx/swcg/span.htm#wp1078185
Does anyone know what the recommendation is from Cisco for this limitation? Will there be a change in the IOS at some point?
Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I know, there won't be any change...

Hi, we had the same problem, the only solution we have found is to use vlan filters to capture the traffic (instead of span session). In the action field of the vlan access-map you select forward and capture. In this way you can capture the traffic from a complete vlan but not a port (except wan ports) without using span session.
I hope this help.
