MAC Learining Issue

Hi,

I have scarce behavior in Switch Port.

network based Pinpad is connected to 2960 switch port and the port configuration is normal access VLAN allowed (sw mode acc & sw acc vla XXX)  pinpad  is configured with Static IP address.

There is no mac address table under the interface. if i ping the device, i could see the mac address. once i stop pinging, MAC disappears after few secs

if i unplug the cable and connect it back nothing is working. any suggestion ??

what is the brand and type of that Pinpad ?

Try:

clear mac address-table dynamic interface FastEthernet0/x

Do you have the same issue when you connect a 'normal' device such as a laptop or PC to the switchport ?

if i set to dhcp it works good but i can see MAC only when i ping the pinpad and i tried clearing the mac.

i don't have any issue with other devices.
