Hi ALL:

Could anyone tell me is buffer memory part of Memory eg if i give command show process memory and show buffer waht is the difference?

Hello Chao,

the buffers are packet buffers used to hold packets waiting to be process switched (by main cpu).

They are a different thing and also different from I/O memory that is the part of main memory used for movement of packets between interfaces
