[mgx rpm redundancy]

hi, all:

i would like to ask if the following is posible and if you can supply a config sample.

i have an mgx-8250 working as a ppp edge concentrator. i have redundant rpm's.

for this setup i have configured an E1 and addcon directly to one of the RPMs. everything i want is working, ppp is up, routing, etc. the FE on the RPM-backcard is configured and works.

this FE is connected to switchA which serves VLANA with subnetA.

what i want to build is an L3 redundant environmente, where the same mgx (if necesary with a seconf RPM, which i have) connects to switchB, that serves VLANB with subnet B.

this way...ip traffic coming in through an FRSM has 2 uplinks. if RPM#1 or switchA fail, i have RPM#2 and switchB (on different VLANs).

my problem is i don't know if it's posible to have this kind of setup and if it is possible i don't know how to configure it.

just one more note, the addcon i configured (and works) goes directly from FRSM to RPM.

hope someone can point in the right direction.

thanks a lot.

regards,

c.

Check if you can use hsrp for this scenario. Check the following link for configuring hsrp :
