How can I tell "by Model Number" what the differences are between routers?

The model number will 50% of the time be printed on the chassic near the power supply, or 50% of the time on the front of the device.

Thank you, I can find the model number but, what I need is to be able to find the differences between them like a 2600 ver. 3600

Errrmmmm I would google for say "2600 datasheet" and "3600 datasheet" and show the cisco links - that will give you a 100% accurate information.

Thanks again, I was hoping for a Cisco site that explained what each digit stands for.
