Hello,
i have a question regarding the monitor session command. I have following interfaces on my router:
Interface IP-Address OK? Method Status Protocol
GigabitEthernet0/0 unassigned YES NVRAM up up
GigabitEthernet0/0.100 172.16.2.6 YES NVRAM up up
GigabitEthernet0/0.101 172.16.18.6 YES NVRAM up up
GigabitEthernet0/0.102 172.16.26.6 YES NVRAM up up
GigabitEthernet0/0.103 172.16.10.6 YES NVRAM up up
GigabitEthernet0/1 172.16.2.30 YES NVRAM up up
GigabitEthernet0/2 172.16.18.14 YES manual up up
FastEthernet1/0 unassigned YES unset up up
FastEthernet1/1 unassigned YES manual down down
FastEthernet1/2 unassigned YES unset up up
FastEthernet1/3
i want to monitor the traffic from the source interface Gi0/2 to the destination interface fa1/3
monitor session 1 source interface gigabitEthernet 0/2 brings this error message % Incomplete command.
monitor session 1 source interface gigabitEthernet 0/2?
/ : <0-2>
i don't have any ports on the Gigabit Interfaces. Any ideas how to monitor traffic?
regards
alex

monitor session works only on switched ports on your HWIC-4ESW
Instead you want to use traffic-export feature (RITE):
