All experts

We have MPLS connectivity (running BGP)between the DC and remote locations.now a days we are facing problem with remote location reachability.

When we try to trace the remote location from DC ,

path should be DC-----MPLS CLOUD---remote location ip

but now when traced,it shows DC---some other remote location ip--MPLS cloud  then the actual remote location ip which we are trying to trace

Why it is not reaching directly from DC to remote locations.

what could be the problem

any suggestions will be really helpful

with regards

mayuresh

Hi mayuresh

this can be because of many reasons can you help by providing the info bellow

- is the MPLS owned by your company or it si a service PRvider MPLS cloud ?

- what routing protcol you run between the DC and MPLS cloud

- what routing protocl you run between remote sites and MPLS cloud

- how many links the DC use to peer with MPLS cloud

- how many links th eremote sites use to peer with MPLS cloud

do you have sample topology of your network showing the the logical routing in your network ?

once you provide the above we can narrow down the reason

Hi marwanshawi

Thanks for the reply

Please find the details below

1) MPLS is owned by service provider

2)Between DC and MPLS cloud running BGP

3)between remote locations and MPLS cloud running BGP

4)currently only one link to peer with MPLS cloud

5) remote locations are also having only one link to peer with MPLS cloud

6) All remote locations are having ISDN as backup connectivity which is running EIGRP process

Hi

please find the attach diagram

ok can you provide the bellow show command for the destination IP you did trace route to

show ip route x.x.x.x   where x.x.x.x is the remote IP/network you did trace route to

provide the above from the DC router and from the router that act as transit before to reach the actual IP
