MPLS Layer2 or Layer3

Hello

DATA link Provider gives customer the choice of selecting MPLS Service with Layer 2 or Layer 3. Can someone help me to understand which is ideal and more benefited to end-customer.

Normally, L3 is more beneficial as it help avoids transmitting data across your MPLS unless it needs to. However, if your existing sites are only L2, a L2 MPLS allows it to be used as a simple extension of your L2 topology (i.e. you don't need to upgrade to routers or L3 switches).
