hi,
i'm trying to configure "mpls ldp label" command in a 3900 router but it seems not supported. is there a syntax variation in its IOS?
mpls ldp label
allocate global host-routes
other MPLS config are supported in the 3900, i.e. "mpls ldp graceful-restart", "mpls ldp tcp pak-priority", etc.
3900(config)#mpls ldp l?
logging loop-detection
the ASR1K and ISR4K both supports the said command (on IOS-XE).
ASR1K(config)#mpls ldp l?
label logging loop-detection
ISR4K(config)#mpls ldp l?
label logging loop-detection

Hello @johnlloyd_13 ,
I suppose the Cisco 3900 router should be running IOS and not IOS XE so my guess is that the command was introduced in IOS XE to make easier to configure MPLS label allocation , to use them only for loopbacks or host routes coming from the global routing table,
In the past we had to use a different set of commands and to allocate the loopbacks address from a single address block to do the same.
Hope to help
Giuseppe

hi giuseppe,
yes, 3900 has the classic IOS.
you're probably right this command maybe introduced later on in IOS-XE. that's the only difference i can see here.
