Good day,
A colleague and I are having a debate over the following scenario....
We want to use a unidirectional serial port on an uplink router to simultaneously transmit multicast packets to a unidirectional serial port on multiple downlink routers. Only one of the multiple downlink routers will have a back channel. Will the one downlink router, that has the back channel, convince the uplink router to route the multicast packets over the uplink serial port to all of the downlink serial ports, simultaneously? All of the downlink routers will have members of a multicast group on an ethernet port.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
