Multicast troubleshooting + 6506 + FWSM= SR613396033

Hi,

Regarding the issue I will try to explain the issue

ServerFarm Chassis(All Layer 2 Vlans Configured)--->FWSM---> Local LAN Chassis(All Layer 3 Vlans Configured)

The multicast sender machine is in ServerFarm Chassis and is forwarding the multicast to all Religare.The observations and issues:

Multicast is not been forwarded to same segment in serverfarm Vlans.

Multicast is not been forwarded to diffrent segments in serverfarm Vlans.

Multicast is being forwarded to Local LAN Vlans.

The multicast sender has IP address xx.216.21.21 in ServerFarm segment with multicast group 233.1.2.5.

for detail on configuration or analysis plz check the SR in cisco site. i cant post detail configuration here..Its ongoin issue

is the FWSM acting as a transparent firewall? I guess it is from your description

Check the status of the special monitor session with sh monitor session all because multicast traffic is moved by the session and FWSM in transparent mode is just good to permit PIM messages to flow.

I also see that you have opened a Cisco TAC Service request SR613396033.
