Dear all,
I am having a challenge setting up channel groups on an E1 card. I can creat the first channel group with it associated timeslot but when I try to creat a second channel group, an error message displays that says:
%CHANNEL-GROUPS PER PORT LIMIT EXCEEDED
%INSUFFICIENT RESOURCES TO CREAT CHANNEL GROUP.
I have not yet terminated the E1 Card to an E1 Line from my Telecommunication service provider and I don't whether that is why it says INSUFFICIENT RESOURCES TO CREAT CHANNEL GROUP
Please, I would be very happy for any idea that will help me move forward because, I am stack.
Thanks

It's says so mostl likely because you are using the wrong card for the job.
Which exact card and router are you using ?

Thanks for your response paolo,
I am using a VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 card on a Cisco 2911 router.
Waiting for your response again

Are you using the other port? You can only have two channels-group per card.

Paolo,
I am intending of using this card to connect to multiple sites(Branches). How then do I create sub interfaces on the card to connect to those branches?
Waiting for your reply.
Thanks

Are you using frame-relay, or channelized E1 ?
Sub-interface are only used in frame-relay. Otherwise, it's called channelized-interface.
Channelized interfaces requires different hardware, not VWIC2.
