Hello,
I was setting up the router with ADSL and in the course of setup I had the need to do a factory default. While doing that the system hing up on me and I had to shut down my PC. Now I am locked out of the router configs. The password I had created is not being accepted as well as the default "cisco" password. Now when I get into the console using hypertermional, I can get to the router> prompt, but cannot enable it, as the password is not being accepted. I keep getting error messages -
%SYS-4CONFIG_RESOLVE_FAILURE: System Confic parse from (tftp://255.255.255.255/router-confg) failed
Also -
%Error opening tftp://255.255.255.255/router.cfg (Timed Out)
%Error opening tftp://255.255.255.255/netwrok-config (Timed Out)
%Error opening tftp://255.255.255.255/cisconet.cfg (Timed Out)
I also checked the interfaces and interface0/0 is down where as interface0/1 & 0/2 are administratively down. The IP defined on interface 0/0 is 10.10.10.1
Please how can sI get the router back to default.
Thanks
Manish

Do a password recovery, and properly erase the bad startup configuration (which looks like it's trying to do a remote load from a badly defined tftp server).
Instructions for password recovery are here

Cheers.

You can do password-recovery if you havent already tried that.
Hit the break key during startup and when you get a prompt type "confreg 0x2142" this will ignore the startupconfig on bootup, type "reset" after to restart. To set it back when you have recoverd the password do "config-register 0x02102" in privilaged mode so it will no longer ignore the startup config when the router reboots.
