To install a Cisco C1117 router and get SD-WAN (SDA/SD-WAN or “SODA”) running on it, you’ll need the correct IOS-XE image and the setup workflow that matches your license. The quickest path is to upgrade the router to the recommended IOS-XE release, enable the SD-WAN/SDA mode, and then push the configuration from Cisco DNA Center or vManage, depending on your deployment.

The C1117 supports Cisco IOS XE, so first make sure you have the correct IOS XE image for your router. Copy the image to the router (via USB, TFTP, or SCP), set the boot variable, and reload. After IOS XE is running, you can install SODA by following Cisco’s SODA setup guide for supported platforms.
