NM-1T3/E3 - 8 MB DS3

Hi All

we have a NM-1T3/E3 card. WE are getting a sliced DS3 ( i.e . Channelized ) from Verizon. but his card doesnt seems to be supporing any channelization.

Can I just use DSU bandwidth 8000 ? will this work ? , Can anyone please let me know if you have used this card for reduced rated ( channelised ) DS3 ?

PLease let me know if anyone have the information.

The local interface configuration must match the remote interface configuration. For example, if you reduce the maximum bandwidth to 16000 on the local port, you must also do the same on the remote port.

The dsu bandwidth command reduces the bandwidth by padding the E3 and T3 frame.

To verify the data service unit (DSU) bandwidth configured on the interface, use the show controllers serial EXEC command.

Not sure of your router type but, be sure the IOS supports that particular NM. That aside, essential commands that I've found are:

-global

Card type t3 1 *the last # is slot

Controller t3 1/0. *takes you into controller configuration. This is where you'll set framing, clock source & line code

To set fractional speed, you'd use the:

dsu bandwidth xxxxxx

Last thing, ensure to have enough DRAM
