we have one NM-2FE2W module with two dual-T1 VWIC-2MFT-T1 cards on a 3845 router.
we only see the two T1 ports of the first 2MFT-T1 card, even though everything showed on the 3660 it was before.
we will try resetting the card in the slot during our next maintenance.
if there is a compatibility problem, and if NM-2FE2W version 2 modules would support two 2MFT-T1 cards (regular version) each on a 3845 ?
We don't have a CCO account to access the software advisor or other CCO-restricted areas.
thank you

Yes the v2 version of the NM is supported in 3800 series. Also the v2 version NM will support VWICs.

thanks for the reply.
we have actually an original NM-2FE2W, which is NOT the version 2, and in this module on a 3845, we have two original VWIC-2MFT-T1 cards, which are NOT version 2.
if everything was ok, we should see four T1 controllers (2 each per card), but we only see two T1 controller from the 1st card. We used to see all four on a 3660.
I am trying to find out if such configuration is indeed supported on a 3845, and if not what would be the cheapest way to get it working, either by getting HDV modules, new NM-2FE2W version 2 modules and/or new VWIC-2MFT-T1 version 2 ?
Again, we don't have a CCO account, and most info. and docs refer only up to the 3745, which would be supported, but no clear word about the 3845.

This is not a fix for your problem - First, I will need to know, what you are planning to use these vwics for. Voice or Data ? Check if the 3845 is able to use one of the VWICs in the onboard 4 HWIC slots fo the 3845. If that works, you can still use the other VWIC-2MFT-T1 on the NM-2FE-2W on slot 1 itself.
Otherwise ----Try seating each VWIC (one at a time) on slot 1 of the NM and see if the router is showing two controllers each time. Then reseat the same VWIC on to slot 2 (one at a time) and see if the 3845 is showing two controllers in sh version output. This will eliminate any slot or vwic issues.
I am not sure why the 3845 is not showing all 4 vwics. Both modules are supported on the 3845, but I dont know if your particular h/w configuration is supported or not. I will try to run your configuration on the CCO software advisor and let you know in my next post. Also in your next post, ge t me a sh version output.
PS: please note these vwics might not be hotswappable, so give particular attention to power down the router and swap cards.

3800 series is not supported by software advisor yet.

thanks for the feedback.
we are already maxing out the HWIC chassis slots, as we need about 16-18 T1s, for data only, no voice.
we'll reseat all cards to make sure.
these 3800 series are a pain because a lot of the NM and VWIC are not supported anymore, that still were on the 3745. talk about investment loss,
thanks for checking the software advisor too. I thought this was the last chance to get a confirmation, so we just have to find out by ourselves now.
thanks again for your research and feedback on this!
