Hello,
I am trying to use capability transit to do some TE in the following topology:
On R5 gi0/1 and R4 gi 0/1 is only in area 0. The interface gi 0/0 on R7 is administratevly down. Traffic from area 0 to the loopback of R7 from R5 goes: R6 - R4 - R7. I want to TE this traffic to go R4 -R7 (metric 16 compared to 31). I understand that R5 prefers intra-area routes first regardless of the metric, but I enabled capability transit on R5. Now it should pick the route with the lowest metric regardless of inter-area, intra-area type. But it does not seem to work. R5 receives the summary LSA from R4 with the 192.168.7.1 prefix, but it does not update the best path to that destination.
Any ideas why?
Thank you,
Silviu

This not relate to transit capability'
This feature only work with virtual link to connect area to backbobe area 0.
What you want is Node or Link protection of TE.

Ok, so capability transit doesn't work as I thought it did. All clear now, thanks!
