Hello,
I've been looking around and am not sure what is wrong with my configuration. Everything else is correct except the username requirement from the Device Hardening component. I've set it according to the instructions below
- User admin with secret password ccna
And I used the below command to set the username and secret level password
S1(config)#username admin secret ccna
Below is a screenshot of the error. This is on Packet Tracer version 8.1.1.0022, this is the pastebin with the full running configuration https://pastebin.com/8XSrLUMP

Hi
This could be PacketTracert bug or you may not attend the requirement as it says "incorrect".
username admin secret 5 $1$mERr$Bok4KDfVutXOJolNq009M/
Is it this level of password what is asked?

Hi Flavio,
I was thinking it is a bug but would like to check first and I'm not so experienced still with configuration. The extensive requirements is per another answer thread, it doesn't say any password/secret level is needed. Is there anything else I can check

Can you share the project? Just zip it first.

Hello,
do you have access to the answer tree in the activity wizzard ?
They might be asking for:
username admin privilege 15 password 0 ccna
or
username admin (no password)
enable secret 0 ccna

Hi George,
Is there a different setting to create a username specifically for ssh2? I tried ssh -l admin from one of the connected desktops and was able to login. Not sure what else it could be, the requirements did say having a secret password ccna, and a username admin and nothing else. Below is the extensive answer for the question to which all was marked as completed except for the username per the screenshot. Also, I do have access to answer tree in preferences but all I see is a long list of checkmarks.
Scenario
The network administrator asked you to configure a new switch. In this activity, you will use a list of requirements to configure the new switch with initial settings, SSH, and port security.
Requirements
· Configure S1 with the following initial settings:
- Hostname
- Banner that includes the word warning
- Console port login and password cisco
- Encrypted enable password of class
- Encrypt plain text passwords
- Management interface addressing
· Configure SSH to secure remote access with the following settings:
- Domain name of cisco.com
- RSA key-pair parameters to support SSH version 2
- Set SSH version 2
- User admin with secret password ccna
- VTY lines only accept SSH connections and use local login for authentication
· Configure the port security feature to restrict network access:
- Disable all unused ports.
- Set the interface mode to access.
- Enable port security to allow only two hosts per port.
- Record the MAC address in the running configuration.
- Ensure that port violations disable ports.

Hello,
which router model is this on ? I checked the entire answer tree for a 4331 router, but 'username' is not an item that can be checked...

Hi George,
In the exercise, a catalyst 2960 switch is used. In another thread with Flavio, I've shared the exercise for your reference if that is needed. Thanks!
