Investigating using a pair of 4500-X switches for a data center application with a need of 24 10Gig SFP+ ports. I need to also create GRE/IPsec tunnels to two sites with each having 1Gbps metro Ethernet links. My thoughts where to use ISR 4431 at the remote sites with the FL-44-PERF-K9 option to get the base performance up to 1 Gbps.
It is a lot cheaper to add the IP Services license to the 4500-X instead of implementing a pair of 4431 at the data center just for the WAN connections. What I am not sure is the performance of the 4500-X with GRE/IPsec services enabled via the IP Services feature set.
Does any know of any throughput specs for the 4500-X with GRE/IPsec enabled?
