Hello,
the command 'debug serial interface' usually gives a good indication of which side is having a problem.
Basically, if there is a discrepancy between the 'mineseen' and 'yourseen' counters, it would tell you which router is not acknowledging keepalives. Check the link below for a detailed explanation of that command. Also, check the document 'Troubleshooting Serial Lines' which gives a very comprehensive overview of serial line (T1 as well) troubleshooting and diagnostics procedures.

Hi,
Always physical method is better in trouble shooting serial line failures.
Loop the Trans & Rec wires in the following order and check with "sh int serial x/x".
Output with -- Protocol up (looped) is ok.
1. loop at local MDF
2. loop at local OFC stn.before the PCM system.
3. Ask PCM people to check their system end to end
4. Take loop at remote OFC
5. Take loop at remote MDF
match the controller config for
"framing crc4" or "no framing crc4" on bothsides
