I have a port channel between switch 3725 and router 7200. I test and prove that when ping from another router 1841 conect on switch to router 7200 on port-channel, ping only go on one link of por channel. But this is what is happen. If I shut down interface where ping is having process on 7200, switch keeps sending ping on interface. The only way it change to other interface is if i shutdown both interface where ping is crossing.
My question is, is shouldnt change interface when interface on other end report line protocol is down?

Hi Aner,
If you don't have channel signaling protocol, LACP or PagP, then it will not change the member port. If it is not directly connected, interface down on one side night not trigger interface down on the other end.

I have it directly connect. do I need signaling protocol anyway?

Yes, it is always recommended to have LACP, PagP, rather than have ON for port channel.
