I have Cisco Rv042 dual vpn router.A speed of 50 Mbps is what i am getting from ISP on both remote and local network.
I have configured PPTP in the Cisco router.
Now when connecting a system to PPTP from remote network and checking the speed.
It shows 2.5 Mbps down and 2.46 up.
Can anyone help me with that ?
Is their any setting that i have to change.
I have already unchecked the box in VPN network properties that says "use remote default gateway"
still the speed does not change.

Hello,
this could be caused by the default MTU setting, which is 1500 as far as I remember. Try different settings, such as 1476 or 1452.
If you can, post you config, there might be something in there that is not correct.

ok.
there is a little change in speed when i reconfigured the pptp on windows and unchecked the "use remote default gateway" box.
now i am getting 17 Mbps down and 4.10 Mbps up.
Still this is no where around my actual speed which is 50 Mbps down and 5 Mbps up.
i have attached the screenshot .

The 'Automatic Metric' checkbox would actually only be relevant if you have more than one network connection on your computer - do you have wireless enabled by any chance ? If so, disable it.
Also, the MTU settings on your RV042 could influence the speed. Can you post the config of that device ?
