Hi All,
I have a problem bundling interface in a multilink on cisco 7609. When the interface in the same module are bundled in a multilink it works well but the problem is when i bundle interfaces on different modules the serial interfaces shows line protocol down.
interface se1/1/1:0 + se1/1/2:0 : multilink works well
interface se1/1/1:0 + se2/1/1:0 : multilink misbehaviour
IOS version adventerprisek9-mz.152-4.S1.
interface Serial1/1/1:0
bandwidth 2048
no ip address
encapsulation ppp
ppp multilink
ppp multilink group 10
ppp multilink endpoint string 10
interface Multilink10
dampening 30 500 1000 120 restart 500
ip address x.x.x.x
no ip redirects
no ip unreachables
no ip proxy-arp
ip pim sparse-mode
ppp multilink
ppp multilink group 10
no cdp enable

May not be a problem per se, but rather how Cisco Implemented MLPPP (wan protocol) on what is essentially a LAN swtich.

Hi Vmiller,
Sorry for the delayed response.
Could you some documents which would help me understand MLPP better.

For the record. I have only seen this work on modular routers, (36xx...29xx)

Hi,
Are the serial endpoint strings on each serial interface unique?
example
interface Serial1/1/1:0
ppp multilink endpoint string ser-1110
interface Serial1/2/0:0
ppp multilink endpoint string ser-1200
interface Serial2/1/1:0
ppp multilink endpoint string ser-2110
Cheers,
Brian
