Problem with GBIC in Cat 4506

I'm having a problem with a gbic I just install on my 4506. The problem is that when I connect the fiber line into the gbic the switch will no longer use the RJ45 port where the router is connected. In other words one of the ports on the RJ45 module has a router connected to it. This work perfectly fine as long as the fiber to the gbic is not connected the moment the fiber is connected network will not use the router.

4506(a)----->RJ45---->CAT6--->router

4506(a)----->gbic---->fiber---->4506(b)

I have to say that no configuration was done to the gbic on 4506(a) as it was not needed to connect with the 4506(b)

I would appreciate any help.

Thank you

Ernesto.

What module is in the 4500 that is causing the problem?
