Problems with SVI

Hi:

I have a router 2901 with a EHWIC-D-8ESG-P card.

I configured vlans and DHCP pools but when I connect a PC to a port of the switch, th PC doesn´t adquire an IP addrees of the DHCP pool.

I know I have to configure SVI's in the router with IP addresses as gateways for the vlans. I have done it, but the vlan interface that I configure always appears as down down.

I applied the no shutdown command to the  vlan interface but this continues in the same status.

What do I have to do for resolving this problem???

have you configured that vlan in layer 2?

unless there is no active(up) port in that vlan, Vlan will not come up.(and it takes 1 to 2 minute to vlan to comeup once a port is in that particular vlan and something is connected to that port)
