hello, everyone.
i would like to know if there is any protocol or way to send the public ip address directly to the server. my isp has allocated me a public ip with 28 mask, i want to use my router to transmit a public address from this range to the server, go into the settings of the network card of the server and set a statically public ip address. (static nat not an option) we have cisco isr 4331 in the enterprise, i understand that this can be implemented somehow through bdi, but the question is how? can you give me an example configuration?

As an alternative you could split the /28 into two /29s and then use one of the /29s on the inside and the other for NAT.

Hi,
Can you share your network topology?

NAT do job,
Public ip - nat - private ip
The client in internet use public ip and router do NAT to private ip and forward traffic to server.

Hello
if applicable you can use a L2 switch as a WAN HO in between the wan rtr then you can simply attached the server to the same switch /vlan as the wan rtr .however beware the server will then be directly attached to the wan and will be totally visible to everyone.
An alternative is to nat hairpin on the server so its reachable internally via it public ip address.
