PWR-2700-AC/4= and PWR-2700-AC=

Hi All,

It seems there is some confusion over these two power supplies. Are they the exact same? On first blush I would expect they would be different but I'm not so sure now.

We purchased a new 7606-S from CDW some time ago and it came with a PWR-2700-AC/4= power supply. However, the Cisco data sheet for the 7606-S only lists the PWR-2700-AC= power supply as an option. Not the PWR-2700-AC/4=

Can somebody clear this up? Are these two model numbers the same? If not, what is the difference?

Note, we've had our 7606-S running with x2 of these power supplies: PWR-2700-AC/4=. One of them recently broke and continue to trip the PDU circuit whenever it is plugged in. I suspect it's because the power supply is the incorrect model number...

Hi Patrick,

PWR-2700-AC is for 7606, PWR-2700-AC/4 is for 7604.

PWR-2700-AC for 7606 has bigger front panel than that for the PWR-2700-AC/4 for 7604.

They are not interchangeable.

Thanks for the reply and the info on the front panel size. I gathered as much from the various spec sheets I read. These two power supplies were never listed together for any chassis.

Ivan, I have a emergency situation.   An AC Power hit took out our PWR-2700-AC.    I have an extra PWR-2700-AC/4.   If I mechanically swap out the front mounting panel, will the PWR-2700-AC/4 work as a temporary replacement for the PWR-2700-AC.   They both use the ASTEC Model AA23420  model power supply.
