QoS in 7606 with SUP32

I need to create a policy to provide only 4 Mbps bandwidth for mail out of 16 mbps pipe terminated on 7606 router (at Datacenter) having  WS-SUP32-GE-3B.But I can't create policy with the help of bandwidth percent, even exact value with priority command does not work. When I am going to enter service policy output command at interface it is showing as"priority command is not supported in output direction for this interface Configuration failed!"

All I want to restrict bandwidth at backbone link for mail traffic. Please note  from all remote locations  use to access mail server over the same link.

Please suggest the suitable soln with configuration

Hi Dhiman,

PFC QoS is quite a complex topic as there are plenty of requirements and limitations.

I.e:

       Policy Map Class Command Restrictions

PFC QoS does not support these policy map class commands:

ā€¢bandwidth

ā€¢priority

ā€¢queue-limit

ā€¢random-detect

ā€¢set qos-group

ā€¢service-policy

As you can see neither bandwidth nor priority are supported on policy maps.

However there are ways to configure policers on this box.

Have a look at the PFC config guide (where the limitations I wrote above come from) at the Policers section:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/7600/ios/12.2SR/configuration/guide/qos.html#wp1720400

You can also find configuration examples at the bottom of the doc.
