QOS on wan routers

Dear Experts ;

                     I  dont have much experience  about  configuring qos . i have to configure wan QOS on the network . i am really confuse from where

should i start ? since i have HQ and  5 sites and each site has voice and video endpoints as well .is there any way like auto qos on lan ,similar on wan ?

Such a short question with a big answer.

First we need to figure out if you need to use hierarchical qos.  What size are the circuits, and what size is the access?  For example, does each branch have a 5Mb/s circuit on a 100Mb/s tail?  And what does HQ have?
