QoS question

Im trying to implement a QoS config on 12.2.40. When I apply the service policy to the interface I recieve this message.

gwy02(config-if)#service-policy input inbound-internet

CEF or distributed CEF switching is required for NBAR 'match protocol' command

Im have CEF enable (this is a 3640), so Im not sure what the problem is.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Can u pls check wheter Cef is enabled on the interface , just a eg of e0/0 " sh cef interface e0/0 " might be that cef might have been removed from the interface

or try adding " ip route-cache cef " in the interface again.

Hi,

u can enable cef by globl confi command ip cef,but be aware that it will be overhead on ur processor and memory as NBAR needs more processing and memory power.
