QoS shape (average & peack)

Buen Dia a Todos.

Quisiera saber cual es la diferencia entre shape peack y shape average cuando se configura una politica de salida en una int WAN, como en este ejemplo:

policy-map SALIDA
class Critical-Data
  bandwidth percent 55
class class-default
  fair-queue
  random-detect dscp-based

!

policy-map QoS-WAN-SALIDA
class class-default
  shape average 320000 3200 0
  service-policy SALIDA

!

interface FastEthernet0/1

Hello,

The link below very well explains the difference between Shape Average and Shape Peak.

The difference comes in how much traffic is sent in a Tc interval.

When you use shape average, at every Tc interval (0.125s by default)  'Bc'  bits of data is sent. When you use Peak average, in a Tc interval 'Be+Bc' bits of data is sent.

You can summarize by saying Peak rate PIR = CIR (1 + Be/Bc)

La diferencia viene en la cantidad de tráfico que se envía en un intervalo de Tc.


Cuando se utiliza promedio de la forma, en cada intervalo de Tc (0.125s por defecto) 'Bc' bits de datos se envían. Cuando se utiliza promedio máximo, en un intervalo de Tc "Be + Bc 'bits de datos se envían.


Se puede resumir diciendo Pico tasa PIR = CIR(1 + Be/ Bc)
