what is the difference between IOS XE version 3 and 16?

which version do i need for ASR1001-X?

Hi A ND,

When you said the differences between IOS XE version 16, I must understand you're referring to our recently released Everest-16.4.1 image.

Researching a little bit, I found the official documentation where you can find the differences (improvements) listed:

There are a couple ones, so I strongly suggest you to have a look at the section "New Software Features in Cisco IOS XE Everest Release 16.4.1".

Thanks for the reply but i mean why is there 2 different version of IOS for one device?

when i am trying to order ASR1001-X i have different options between IOS XE 3 and IOS XE 16.

and also i want to use GLC-TE module but i don't know which version of OS i need for this.
