Hello,
I have a switch catalyst 2960 and i need do rate-limiting in a port fastethernet.
In the configuration guide in the chapter of Configuring QoS says as to do it, and I configuration:
configure terminal
class-map clase
policy-map politi
class clase
trust dscp
set dscp 0
police 1000000 8000 exceed-action drop
exit
exit
interface fastethernet 0/2
service-policy input politi
end
that configuration what causes is limit the port 0/2 to 1 Mbps then if i send to the server that is in these port a file, That discharge cannot pass from 1 Mbps not?
What am i doing bad?
Thank you,
Regards

Hi,
Thank you by respond.
I want a solution for traffic limit of the ethernet. By example:
If the port 2 send or receive a file and it saturates with a bandwitch of 30 Mbps the out to internet. The other ports would remain no way out to internet.
Thank you,
Regards.

uhmm, sorry but I don't understand.
if you want a generic traffic limit, maybe 'rate-limit' (policing with CAR) is your choice. But with your topology I maybe could help you better ...

Andrea
