recommendations on WAN technologies

Hello,

Can someone please recommend me a book(s) focused on WAN technologies?

I'd like to read more about the Metro Ethernet, MPLS and SD-WAN (and how BGP fits here), and I'd like something to explain the differences between these technologies, and why the need to replace one with the other.

I found some books on Amazon, but they are either heavily focused on MPLS, or on SD-WAN, or they are too old (early 2000). If the material could go a little bit in-depth (packet headers, timers, protocols etc) it would be awesome.

Also, is there a CISCO exam/certification which covers the topics described above?

Any recommendation you guys might have is appreciated.

Thank you

Hello,

I am not sure there is one book that covers all three subjects in depth. By looking around, I found a couple of useful links (see below).

Ethernet, MPLS and SD-WAN: What Decision Makers Really Think

SD-WAN vs MPLS: The Pros and Cons of Both Technologies

As for the exams, the same applies. There is not really one exam that covers all topics.

Implementing Cisco SD-WAN Solutions (300-415 ENSDWI)

For MPLS/Metro Ethernet
